Thoughts from the Sauna – February 3, 2012

62 lbs. That’s how much total weight I’ve lost. I’m so proud of myself!! Only 20 more lbs and out of the 300’s!! It’s been since middle school probably since that has happened!

I ran/walked 4.3 miles. Not terrible, but not my best. That’s okay! I’m okay with it. 🙂

I’m currently setting my goals for February. I should have them soon!

Thoughts from the Sauna – January 20, 2012

All day today seems like its been my day. 🙂 My schedule meeting at work usually takes 3-4 hours. It only took 1.5.

I upped my resistance on the machines and free weights. It felt awesome!! Yes, it hurt, but was worth it.

During my cardio, I ran 5.7 miles to Dolly’s music. I’ve never done that before. I loved it. 🙂

I’ve been thinking a lot about the new roller coaster, Wild Eagle. I want to ride it so bad. It’s my goal to ride it this year. I can’t wait. When my feet leave the ground and take to the skies, I’ll have a better since of accomplishment. It’ll be the culmination of years of hard work.

Thoughts from the Sauna – September 13, 2011

Country Music… That’s what did it for me this morning. I listened to it my entire run. 🙂

I weighed in this morning at 349 lbs. Thats a total of 32 lbs lost since August 1, 2011! I’m over the scale issue. I just decided to move forward. No looking back. My progress:

08/01/11 – 381 lbs
08/08/11 – 374 lbs (-7 lbs)
08/15/11 – 368 lbs (-6 lbs)
08/22/11 – 362 lbs (-6 lbs)
08/29/11 – 358 lbs (-4 lbs)
08/29/11 – 349 lbs (-9 lbs)

Total weight loss: 32 lbs

I ran 4.08 miles and burned 457 calories over 31 minutes. 🙂

Thoughts from the Sauna – September 8, 2011

My WordPress app crashed again. Grr. I’ll try to remember exactly what I typed the first time.

I got to the gym late because of my laziness and my mental exhaustion. I was supposed to have a meeting at 2pm with my boss, but he messaged me around 3 miles to tell me that it would be 2:30! Extra cardio!!

I did 6.27 miles and burned 724 calories over 51 minutes. A new record!!

I Don’t Want To

Do you ever just want to whine? This morning, my inner child is screaming, “I don’t want to care about the gym today. Work was so busy! I’m still tired! The thought of going and getting all sweaty on an elliptical just irritates me.”

There’s probably a truth to those thoughts, lol. But, the whining is over, and now it’s time to get ready. I can recall when that was a thought I would have about the gym and I would give in and go back to sleep. I got a good 7 and a half hours of sleep last night. I feel rested, but honestly, not 100% rested. I think that’s my problem. I work so late, I feel like I work, sleep, gym, work, sleep, gym, repeat. It stinks being a grown-up, huh?

Sigh. It will all be okay. Everything is just temporary and everything we do is for a reason. One of my favorite church hymns is “Farther Along,” which reminds us that “Farther along we’ll know more about it / Farther along we’ll understand why / Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine, / We’ll understand it all by and by.” How comforting! 🙂

Music for the Journey

Hey guys, I’m about to leave for the gym. I got my essentials, my gym bag, my bottle of water, and iPhone (with my “Heart Rate Pumpers” playlist). I love music. Also, music with a driving beat helps me keep the rhythm on the machines, as well as keeps my feet moving faster to keep my heart rate up. I listen to the same songs on repeat.
